AAMEG’s goal in supporting the development of this handbook is to enhance the ability of member companies to manage social and environmental risks in a manner that aligns with international guidelines and good practices and also brings lasting benefits for those affected by their projects. It is a way of doing business that not only contributes to success abroad but also reflects Australian values and reinforces Australian leadership in responsible business practices.
Written by AAMEG member Robin Budden, the handbook is an engineer’s perspective of what is often seen as the ‘soft side’ of project development, creating a resource that AAMEG believes will be equally useful as a how-to guide for a novice and as a memory jogger for a more experienced operator.
The handbook was launched on 20 August 2015 at the AAMEG Celtic Club networking seminar.
